sabbath
another busy sunday. church this morning, straight to cindy's students' recital, straight to z's baccalaureate service. well, the sabbath really is on saturday anyway...
this was my first baccalaureate and it was pretty good. chip ingram gave the main message all about the dangers of materialism and relativism. jere wood, the mayor of roswell, was pretty unimpressive following chip. basically said something to the effect of "go out there and party." thanks jere. who voted you in?
btw, the baccalaureate service derives from the medieval European custom of presenting the candidates for the degree of bachelor (bacca) with laurels (lauri) of sermonic oration. (definition from www.bates.edu)
