sometimes i'm just random part 2
ok, i've lived in the south for over 25 years and have never been to a wedding quite like this...

although i have to admit that i was surprised to see statues and memorials to "our confederate soldiers" when i moved here from indiana back in the 70s. a whole different perspective in the south about the "war of northern agression." sweet, little old ladies in savannah are still ticked off about sherman camping out in their city after he trashed atlanta.

I think a lot of the same issues we see today between the political parties can be traced back to the war between the states. No, the war was not just over slavery but many other issues that continue to be debated - States' rights, role of Federal government, tarriffs, etc.
Though I agree with the Confederacy about how the constitution addresses States' rights, I'm thankful for the Union victory because we could not have withstood WWII without it.
I might venture to say that Tim might even have some confederate tendencies based on what little I know of his political affiliation.
Go ahead and say "Yehaw!" ;)
